The Date Alchemy ("we," "our," or "us") provides bespoke, human-led matchmaking. We operate under the high standards of the GDPR (Luxembourg/EU), PDPA (Singapore), and the Data Protection Act 2017 (Mauritius).

2. Data Controller & Security

• Access Control: Access to identifiable member profiles is strictly limited to our three founding directors.
• Technical Security: Data is stored in our internal database (Airtable), which is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (SSL/TLS). Our intake tool (Zite) is SOC2 Type II and GDPR compliant.

3. What We Collect & Why

• Identity & Contact: We collect your name, email address, and WhatsApp/phone number. We use these to communicate with you about your membership, send you curated match profiles, and deliver our bi-weekly insights. Your first name and phone number are only shared with potential matches you agreed to meet based on the explicit privacy preferences you select during registration. You maintain the right to update these preferences or withdraw consent for specific shares at any time by contacting your matchmaker.
• Verification Data: We collect a copy of your government-issued ID. This is used strictly for internal identity verification and to ensure the safety and authenticity of our community.
• Special Category Data: Because we are a matchmaking service, we collect data regarding your values, beliefs, lifestyle, and relationship preferences. By providing this, you explicitly consent to us using it to craft your profile and curate your matches.
• Multimedia: We collect photos for potential sharing with matches. These are only shared with potential matches based on the explicit privacy preferences you select during registration. You maintain the right to update these preferences or withdraw consent for specific shares at any time by contacting your matchmaker.

4. Profile Creation & Matchmaking Disclosure

To provide our bespoke matchmaking service, we use the information you provide to create a curated "Match Profile."

• Human-Led Creation: Our team crafts your profile based on your values, preferences, and lifestyle. While we may use internal tools for efficiency, all final profile decisions are made by our founders.
• The Approval Process: We do not share your profile "blindly." You have final authority over your data. We only share your profile description once you have reviewed and validated the specific text.
• Media: Your photos are only shared with a specific curated match based on the explicit privacy preferences you select during registration.
• One-at-a-Time Sharing: Profiles are only shared with one potential match at a time, identified by our team as a high-quality compatibility candidate.

5. International Data Transfers

Our data is processed using secure cloud providers (Airtable/Zite). We ensure all providers adhere to Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to maintain a level of protection equivalent to GDPR standards.

6. Your Rights & Retention

• Right to Erasure: You may request the deletion of your data at any time. We will process this within 30 days.
• Data Retention: We keep active profiles during your membership. Upon cancellation, we anonymize your data for statistical history (removing all identifiers) unless you request a full "Right to be Forgotten."
• Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to contact the CNPD (Luxembourg), PDPC (Singapore), or the DPO (Mauritius) specifically regarding the handling of your personal data.

7. Marketing

If you register as a member, we use your email to send our bi-weekly newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the "unsubscribe" link or by emailing us directly.
